Why is fruity loops so complicated
Words to live by I just got FL and gonna start messing with it soon. Until then Im learning the MP and on them keys!!! Last edited: Sep 28, Flatline Beats New member. I don't use it as much since I got a mpc, but I still do sometimes. I made a beat the first time I ever used it.
It was the first beat making software I ever used. But it took me years to learn all of the features to the point where I can do what I do now inside of it. I know tricks that most people don't and that took forever. I think only the designers of the software and people that use only FL Studio for over 5 years might have a better understanding of it. People learn the basics of the sequencer and think they got it down.. DBawls New member. DJ Remedy New member.
Another one of the biggest reasons FruityLoops caught on so quickly was that it was never aimed at musicians. In fact, neither Dambrin or any of the Image-Line team had any previous musical experience.
You know, like books, that you wished you had read, but don't want to read. They're the ones that are supposed be used but are too scary because of their complexity, and you don't really 'want' to learn them In those days, the bandwidth to host something like we had was the cost of a decent computer, every month, and we were making a fraction of that.

A and Dexplicit's take on FL, why they love it and how it shaped electronic music culture.
I fell in love with it straight away due to its ease of use. That was a good enough reason. The process of writing, erasing and editing drums patterns in FL is ridiculously fast. This allows me to experiment through lots of different drum pattern options in a short space of time. Also, FL opens up really fast. You can launch the program and be going at it within seconds. I try to continue to push myself out of my comfort zone with regard to increasing my production value.
Dexplicit : I think a DAW is just a tool really. You can make any type of music on any DAW. Apart from the fast workflow and ease of use, I think the punchy sound of FL has always been great for club-based music genres. They all sound great, but they all sound slightly different. I often get snobby comments from old men in turtlenecks who make me feel bad for not using, say, Pro Tools to do a film score. And it makes me roll my eyes. Good, leave it to us. Its speed of development and adoption of the newest technology, as well as adding initiative new tools, was also a huge part of the charm.
Wordmarks are restricted to industries. Created using only preset sounds from the demo version of FL Studio, its triplet hats inspired a new direction for rap music that continues into Whether it was garage, grime or bassline, it was almost exclusively at that tempo for this reason.
