I grew up during the time time when all girls expected to have European china and sterling silver flatware when they got married. But when I was 14, General Mills had Betty Crocker coupons on most of their products; and they could be used to buy a single pattern of silver plate flatware named Queen Bess.
You could send in X number of coupons and 25 cents and get a spoon. With several women family friends saving them for me, I became coupon-rich; and I completed my entire set in a few years. But I still think it was a singular blessing when you could get good weight, very lustrous stainless steel flatware. Until just a few years earlier, the only way you could have quality-looking flatware was to buy silver. That had been the case throughout civilization, so the idea was hard to overcome.
It is so refreshing to learn that your family business in the USA is thriving. I wish you much success. I may need new flatware in the near future. I, also, have a fee couples getting married and may purchase your product as a wedding gift.

Bravo to you and your little company. To inspire your own children to want to be a part of your company is also inspiring. How do I care for my Oneida bakeware? Porcelain Bakeware : This versatile bakeware is easy to clean and completely dishwasher safe. Use care when loading pieces in the machine so they do not bump against other pieces. Avoid harsh detergents with citrus additives. Delicate and oversized pieces should go in the top rack. Non-stick Bakeware : While dishwasher safe, the best way to preserve the non-stick finish is to wash by hand using regular dish detergent and a soft sponge.
Never allow sharp utensils like knife blades to come into contact with the silicone finish. Do not use steel wool or abrasive sponges as they can also scratch and remove the non-stick surface. How do I care for my Oneida cookware? Hard-Anodized Cookware and Aluminum Cookware : These pots and pans are easy to clean thanks to the nonstick surface lining each piece. To preserve the nonstick coating, wash by hand using regular dish detergent and a soft sponge.
Never use steel wool or abrasive scrubbers as they can scratch the finish. Always use nylon, bamboo, and silicone utensils. Avoid contact with metal which can remove the non-stick surface. Glass lids may go in the top rack of the dishwasher.
Stainless Steel Cookware : Like our flatware, Oneida cookware is dishwasher safe. However, to ensure a long life of use, washing by hand in hot water with a mild detergent is the recommended method.
Dry with a clean cloth. If you choose to place it in the dishwasher, the top rack is the safest place and less prone to bumps. Do not let your cookware rest against other metals or sharp items in the dishwasher.
How do I care for my Oneida cutlery? Good quality cutlery will last a lifetime with proper care. Because cutlery should be cleaned immediately after use to prevent damage caused by certain foods, it is recommended that you wash it by hand in warm soapy water. Using a soft brush or sponge, gently rub each side of the blade. Rinse your knives thoroughly removing all soap. Dry by blotting with a soft cloth or paper towel.
Can I put my knives in the dishwasher for cleaning? Dishwasher detergents and heat are hard on knife metals. For this reason, we do not recommend dishwasher use for cutlery knives. The best way to care of your cutlery is to hand wash all your knives in warm soap water. Allow them to air dry completely before returning them to their block.
How do I sharpen my knives? You can have your knives sharpened professionally. Many cookware shops offer sharpening services, and if you can't find one locally there are also online sharpeners who will renew your edges for a fee, plus the cost of shipping. What do you mean when you say decaled dinnerware? A decal is a pattern that is applied to dinnerware prior to firing. Decals are applied as a sheet, much the same way you would apply a stick-on tattoo. The decal is slid off a paper backing, and it sticks to the unfired ceramic.
Using a squeegee, a factory worker gently removes any residual water and air bubbles out from under the decal. Once applied, the entire piece goes into the kiln.
Does Oneida dinnerware meet FDA standards for lead and cadmium content? Yes, all Oneida dinnerware meets or exceeds the FDA standards. The United States Food and Drug Administration has very strict standards as to the level of these particles that are acceptable. All dinnerware for sale in the US must meet these standards and we are extremely diligent in fully complying with these standards. For easy cleaning and heating, your dinnerware is both microwave and dishwasher safe.
Is it possible to order a single piece for my existing set? This allows you to replace pieces that may be lost or damaged or to simply add to your set over time. However please note that not all patterns have open stock items.
To find out if you can purchase flatware items individually type the pattern name in the search bar in the top right corner of the website. If the items are not listed separately, we do not sell them individually. These percentages represent the amount of chrome and nickel in the steel alloy that we use to make our products. Chrome is added to aid the steel in corrosion resistance and the nickel is added for a soft, silver-like luster. How do I care for my stainless flatware?
